With the recent announcements by Pearson about changes to the PTE Academic / UKVI test format, there has been a lot of uncertainty among the student fraternity. Alfa PTE has worked hard to incorporate all the announced changes to its practice portal, making it available for users to practice, prepare & be ready weeks before the 7th August changes go live. The most recent question types, such as Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation, are included in our updated materials, which fully reflect the modifications made by Pearson on August 7, 2025.

Two new Speaking task types have been introduced:
- Summarize Group Discussion
- Respond to a Situation
Updated Task Distribution
The following score distribution changes have been made:
- Read Aloud will only contribute to the Speaking score
- Answer Short Question will now contribute to the Listening score only
- Fill in the blanks (Dropdown) will now contribute to the Reading score only
- Listening Fill in the blanks will now contribute to the Listening score only
Human Check
Human expert review has been introduced in the following 7 question types, when the AI flags any response for repetitive phrases & templates:
- Describe Image
- Retell Lecture
- Respond to a Situation
- Summarize Group Discussion
- Summarize Written Text
- Write Essay
- Summarize Spoken Text
Updated Question Numbers & Timings
The exam duration will slightly increase as there have been 2 new questions added, along with an additional number of questions added in a few of the existing questions.

Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation are the two new question types that Pearson has added in Part 1. There are now more tasks overall, and some sections will now use human review to evaluate the uniqueness and relevance of the content.
Has Alfa PTE modified the mock tests with the new structure?

Are these changes applicable only to PTE Academic, or is UKVI also included in these updates?
