PTE Academic – Frequently Asked Question

The PTE Academic has 22 tasks, whereas the PTE Core has 19 tasks. The PTE Academic has an essay writing task, summarizing group discussion, responding to a situation, and retelling a lecture task, whereas the PTE Core has an email writing task. PTE Academic UKVI is the same as PTE Academic; the only difference is that you have a URN and SELT numbers, which are required by the UK government.
Firstly, it will begin with 7 tasks of speaking and 2 tasks of writing as a single part, which lasts about 76-84 minutes. Then, the next part of reading consists of 5 tasks, which takes about 23-30 minutes. Finally, the last part of the test is the Listening section, which has about 8 tasks, and is for 29-36 minutes.
It depends on the country where the test taker is taking. For example, it is the cheapest in Egypt and the costliest in the Gulf.
You are eligible for a full refund if you cancel your exam 2 weeks before your exam date. If you cancel within the 2-week time period of your exam date, you will not get any refund. You can reschedule free of cost 2-weeks before the exam date. For more policies, you can refer to the official Pearsonpte website for more accurate and updated guidance regarding this.
A passport is the primary identification document to be used on the test day. Some countries may also have some other identification exceptions as well. You can refer to the Pearsonpte portal for more information.
The score requirements depend on the type of visa you are applying for. For example, if you are applying for a study visa, scores requirements will be a bit lower. If you are applying for some professional registration, permanent residency, or citizenship applications, the score requirements might be higher. Kindly first check and decide the visa for which you are planning to apply, go through their score requirements, and prepare using AlfaPTE accordingly.
